Natural products from the medicinal plant source are the main cast of modem drug in clinical use. Herbs are used by man from the beginning of human culture as a source of medicine. WHO estimates that more than 80 % of the worlds population relies on plants as the primary medicinal source for the treatment of common diseases. People not only use herbs as medicines but also as food and cosmetics. Traditional medical practitioners use a variety of plants in their treatment and are very much successful in their approach but they are unable to communicate their ideas to the modem world, which require vernacular names and botanical names.
